Bring your spoons, footballs, tuxedos, and roses. The Little Rock Film Festival brings to you The Room directed, written and starring the enigmatic Tommy Wiseau screens again in a Special Presentation with Market Street Cinema. For those of you who don't know what The Room is, it is arguably the "best worst" movie in the world. Audience members are encouraged to interact with the film by throwing spoons at the screen at given moments, heckling the performances, shouting catchphrases, and mainly just "express yourself, but don't hurt anyone." The film has been playing to sold out crowds in LA and New York for the past five years and finally Little Rock gets to experience The Room. It is a naughty little movie so children are discouraged but man-childs are not. So bring a friend, a neighbor, your psychiatrist even and get ready for the best night of your life. There will be a small Q and A about the film before and a discussion afterwards. For more information on the film visit the Little Rock Film Festival blog which contains youtube clips and information on how to interact with the film. We are continuing this series on the last Saturday of each month until September unless turnout is amazing so please come and laugh your heads off at arguably one of the most entertaining films ever made. Event Details: When: Saturday June 27, 9:00pm Where: Market Street Cinema ( directions) |

We are in need of an actor/actress. The final product will be a video for the Arkansas Aerospace Industry that will be used to encourage youth to take more challenging courses while in high school so they can be prepared for work in the aerospace industry. Our talent needs to be able to appeal to junior high aged kids. We will be filming in some restricted areas (think airports) so you must be no younger than 18 to apply for this gig. We need a youthful face and attitude so if your beyond 25, you need to look and act younger. You must be creative. You must be energetic. You must be fun. You must be able to look directly at the camera and sell the idea that taking a harder math class in high school could lead to some really "cool" jobs later on. If you don't know what "vote for Pedro" means, you probably don't need to apply. You will have creative freedom working with the director of photography with the script. The ability to ad-lib is critical. Filming dates will be within one month of this audition. We will film approximately 2 full days and would like it if you have some flexibility with your schedule. The audition will be held at the Little Rock Chamber of Commerce on June 19, 2009. You will have a scheduled time for your audition. All shooting will be in the state of Arkansas. Please send a resume and headshot via email to natalieh2005@yahoo.com. We will notify you of your audition time.

This is Ruben Evans from Little Rock, AR. I am an internationally award-winning filmmaker for a documentary I have done in 2008. I have professional experience in doing camera for college basketball games. I have also been an Audio Director for the Steve Shields show in AR and "The Motivated About Jesus Broadcast," an on-going local church broadcast on CW. Previous experience has been some onscreen work for short films as well as video editor off screen. Latest professional has been Production Assistant work (one in particular is American Idol). Film and video production is my joy, but onscreen is also fun.

I know this is mostly a crew based web site, but I got this email from a friend of mine who is working on an ultra low budget filming in Monroe Louisiana. They have all the kids they need, but still could use some more adults! For those wanting to learn about working on a set and not interested in being an actor, this is a great way to get on a set and see what happens behind the scenes.

No, not the film, (well yes the film too) but the band Anvil is actually coming to play after the 7:00 pm show Monday, May 25th show. Tickets are 12 dollars so get them early at Market Street as soon as possible. Tell all your friends. The more people that come the crazier the show will be. It's an awesome documentary if you like music, film, or the guys from Anvil. If Spinal Tap is your favorite mockumentary this will be your favorite documentary. If you have questions email me at levifilm@gmail.com. Get your Tickets now! http://marketstreetcinema.net/

I just want to let everyone know that we’re here and available for scoring and sound design. I have teamed up with another composer, Robert Waddington of The Modern Jazz Assassins. We also have many tracks available for TV and Film which you can license directly from http://virb.com/the_scientific_methodSwitch Theory is a collaboration project between Robert Waddington of The Modern Jazz Assassins and Jim Hughes of The Scientific Method. The film world is full of traditionalist film composers. Switch Theory is based on the idea that there are so many fresh new approaches to film scoring that are untouched as yet. By switching genres and twisting styles together, Bob and Jim are able to create exciting and hauntingly deep emotions. They are continuously breaking all the known barriers of music and passionately exploring new sonic terrains. Their artful fusing of almost all genres is only surpassed by their zest for experimenting with new technology. Genres: IDM, orchestral, dance, funk, jazz, rock, blues, reggae, ambient, choral, classical, pop, electronica, industrial, ragtime, big band, hybrid, rap and no not country Thanks, Jim

I suppose that this is the best place to start, with some background on myself, and my journey to this particular stage of my life, with regards to the entertainment industry. So strap in, here's a history lesson. I started out in 2004 doing publicity for a film called ACID RAIN while I was living in Washington, DC. Following that I worked for the distribution company Hannover House in Fayetteville, AR. At that point I was hooked on filmmaking, so pulled together a few investors and produced the films WINTER WOOD and SUGAR CREEK. At the end of the day, those were living & breathing film schools for most of us. I then went up to St. Louis and worked as a production coordinator on GHOST IMAGE, and shortly after went on to produce THE LEAF MAID in Arizona. I then returned to Fayetteville and partnered up with Dissolve Pictures, and produced JOHNNY SUNSHINE and ARKANE, and nearly back to back I was an actor in RED SCREAM VAMPYRES and writer/actor in TERMINAL DESCENT, both in Buffalo, NY. Following that I moved to Tempe, AZ. While there I worked for Maxim Media International as a film sales rep, and had the chance to work the Cannes Film Festival and attend the sales market there in 2008. Then I was off to Buffalo, NY to shoot my first film as a director, FABLE: TEETH OF BEASTS, and while there ended up being an actor in THE DARKNESS. Following that I moved to North Hollywood, CA and began working in distribution again, this time for Quantum Releasing in Burbank. I partnered up with a producer in Buffalo named David Williams and founded MEDICINE SHOW CINEMA, which is our own DVD/VOD label. After so many years of film and distribution experience, we are in a position to produce and sell our own product with the same level of success of larger companies. Eventually I ended up heading back to Buffalo, NY to make another film, CLERIC, this time as a lead actor and writer. Presently I am back in Tempe, AZ producing, writing, and acting in a children's horror film, POCKETMAN. Though Arkansas is my home base, thankfully the distribution company can be run from anywhere in the world, so long as I have a cellphone, computer, and internet.
